Our Sr Marie-Christopher celebrated her 80th birthday on 15 March 15 2023 at the Seniors’ Residence Kist.

With great joy Sr Marie-Christopher celebrated a special round birthday together with her fellow sisters and a large part of her family, who had come to the Seniors’ Residence Kist where Sr Marie-Christopher - together with her fellow sisters - has been living since January this year.

Surprise in the morning: former employees offer a birthday serenade

Already in the morning there was a big hello when some former co-workers from the convent in Neustadt arrived in Kist for a surprise visit and sang a birthday serenade to the jubilarian. "That made me very happy," says Sr Marie-Christopher.

Parish vicar Frank Elsesser celebrated Holy Mass with the sisters. In the afternoon, the sisters and Sr Marie-Christopher's family met together for coffee and cake in the all-purpose hall of the seniors’ residence.

Born and raised in Würzburg, Sr Marie-Christopher now lives back in her home town

Sr Marie-Christopher was born in Würzburg on 15 March 1943, and grew up there in the Sanderau district. Therefore, her new home in Kist is not far from her childhood and youth. "So now a circle is closed for me," says the jubilarian.

On 31 January 1964, she entered our Congregation in Neustadt - together with Sr Dagmar Fasel and Sr Marcella Füchtenhans - and made her First Profession on 1 November 1969. Sr Marie-Christopher is a trained parish worker and studied theology. She worked for our Congregation in various positions in Germany, South Africa and America.

She celebrated her birthday in the best of health. We wish her good health for the new year of her life.
