“Shining Together”
“Shining Together” is the name of the campaign launched by the internet portal katholisch.de. We would like to share the accompanying Christmas film with all of you.
We live in a time when shocking news often takes our breath away. War, natural disasters, displacement, and poverty are part of our daily lives, in the media and in the stories of the people around us.
All these fates touch us deeply. And sometimes we ask ourselves: Is it okay to celebrate Christmas at all? Is it okay to experience peace, warmth, and joy while others are suffering?
This year's Christmas film gives us a hopeful answer: Yes. Celebrate Christmas. Despite everything.
Right now, we can make the small, ordinary moments something special. When we show more appreciation for the things we take for granted, we open the door to more love, patience, and gratitude.
And that often starts quietly – with ourselves: perhaps with a warm cup of tea in the morning and a candle instead of bright lights. Or with the decision to leave only kind words on social media for a month. Small gestures that give warmth – to ourselves and others.
May we shine together and carry hope forward during this Advent season.
