The Sisters organise their own Olympics at St. Martin’s
A wonderful afternoon with special achievements and lots of fun and entertainment.
Our Sisters at the St. Martin’s Senior Citizens’ Center in Mission San Jose in Fremont, California (USA) were inspired by the athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
They didn't just watch the games on TV and cheer along with them. No, they got up and did some sporting activities themselves, demonstrating skill and endurance and achieving remarkable success!!!
The Sisters competed in ring throwing, bowling, darts, archery and bean bag throwing, among other things. The athletes also bet on a pig of their choice, which competed in three different pig races.
‘Excellent,’ was the verdict of everyone at the end of the event.
The Sisters and staff at St. Martin’s spent an extraordinary and entertaining afternoon together. This was reflected by the enthusiasm with which they competed in the individual disciplines.
Without the volunteers who made it all possible, these special achievements and results would never have been possible. Many thanks to all the Sisters, all the staff and all the volunteers who so generously shared their joy and time with our Sisters.
