Sr Eva-Maria is the new Prioress for Villa Assumpta/Villa Siena

Sr Eva-Maria Thupatsogong has been appointed as the local prioress at Villa Assumpta in Pietermaritzburg, taking over from Sr Celia Smit who now assumes responsibility for pastoral care of the Sisters.

The two Sisters will continue to work closely together to ensure that the various needs of the Sisters are met.

Mandla Jwara CMM, Archbishop of Durban, celebrated the Eucharist with the Sisters

On a recent visit to Villa Assumpta, the Archbishop of Durban, Mandla Jwara CMM, celebrated the Eucharist and enjoyed a meal with the Sisters. He imparted a special blessing to Sr Eva-Maria.

Fr. Vusi Mazibuko OMI, the parish priest of St. Mary's, also visited the sisters and celebrated Mass with them

Some time prior to the Archbishop’s visit, the parish priest of St Mary’s (the parish to which Villa Assumpta belongs) also joined the Sisters for Mass and lunch. The visit of Fr Vusi Mazibuko OMI was appreciated by all.

Villa Assumpta which belongs to the Congregation of Oakford, but which is now under PADCA management, oversees the smooth running of the home as a whole, liaising with the companies providing care, cleaning, gardening, and maintenance of buildings and grounds, and the nursing staff employed directly under the home.
