Car Show at Villa Assumpta break the Covid-19 monotony. A fun occasion on all counts was enjoyed by all!

On Friday, 15 October, the “Villa Assumpta” senior citizen’s residence in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, hosted a vintage car show for the Sisters, residents and staff to break the monotony and enjoy the lessening of the Covid-19 restrictions.

Owners of vintage cars and other special cars brought them along and treated anyone who was game to a ride in the grounds. For the more daring, there was even the possibility of a ride in the suburb.

One elderly man had a drive in the same kind and model of car in which he had learned to drive over sixty years ago. It seems that only the nursing manager climbed into the tractor!

Covid restrictions have kept everyone on the property for so long, so there was great excitement all round.

The kitchen staff laid on sausage rolls and freshly baked scones for all concerned. Residents came dressed for the occasion and some even won a prize.
