Dominican Study Days in Leitershofen
This year's Dominican Study Days of the Association of Dominican Women's Congregations in German-speaking countries (AGOP) took place from 29 July to 1 August 2024 at the retreat house of the Diocese of Augsburg in Leitershofen.
The title of the study days was ‘Catherine of Siena and Madeleine Delbrel – What do the two sisters have to say to us in our faith today?’
Forty Sisters from various Dominican communities in Germany and German-speaking Switzerland participated, along with two of their brothers, Fr Gerfried Bramlage OP, who was their promoter for over 20 years, and Fr Laurentius Höhn OP, the current AGOP promoter.
Christiane Sartorius OP and Sr Hilke Stenner OP took part in the study days representing the Oakford Dominican Sisters.
The speakers, Sr Maria Magdalena Dörtelmann OP and Dr Annette Schleinzer, were able to show parallels, although the women lived in different centuries: Catherine of Siena (1347-1380), Madeleine Delbrel (1904-1964). ‘They made the topic relevant to our daily lives,’ says Sr. Christiane.
